to the information page in the PDF brochure
Dear Parents and Visitors,
To ensure a safe stay in our department, please make sure to follow the safety instructions below. Your
safety and the safety of your baby are important to us!
Fall prevention guidelines
Make sure to walk carefully in the initial hours following delivery
Refrain from visiting the NICU if you feel dizzy and unsteady
We recommend coming to the NICU with a companion
If the floor is wet, we advise waiting until it is dry
Do not walk around the department barefoot
Wear comfortable shoes that are not slippery
Do not sit on a chair with wheels. We recommend sitting on a stable chair with four legs
If you are tired, put your baby back in the bassinet/incubator. Falling asleep while holding your
baby could put him/her at risk of falling or choking
While you are in the department, hold your baby when sitting in an armchair
Sit in an armchair when breastfeeding
Keep devices that emit cellular radiation away from your baby
Make sure that other people who care for your baby, including family members and visitors follow these instructions
Instructions for safe use of incubator
The door to the incubator will only be opened with the approval of the treating nurse
When the visit is over/care for your baby is complete, make sure to close the door to the incubator
your baby is in
Make sure that the incubator doors are closed safely by checking that the orange stripe on the
latch disappears
Do not remove a baby from the incubator without being supervised by a nurse
While you are next to the baby’s incubator, you can adjust the height by using the pedal.
Make sure that no strings are being pulled and that no devices get stuck when raising or lowering the
incubator
Make sure to lock the brakes on the incubator
Instructions for safe use of bassinets
Make sure to lock the brakes on the bassinet
When moving from place to place, make sure that your baby is always in the bassinet and not in
your arms. When moving the bassinet, make sure that the bed is straight and not at an angle
When caring for your baby in the bassinet, straighten the bed in which the baby is lying in order to
prevent it from falling suddenly
Caring for your baby in the bassinet will only be done in the bassinet bed and not on the tray. You
can use the tray to place supplies and laundry
Bringing hot drinks or any beverage other than water into the department is not allowed
Place your baby on their back in the bassinet
Before washing your baby, make sure to prepare a safe environment to prevent slipping
Maintain constant physical and eye contact with your baby while washing and caring for them
